Thanks to the KPMG Running Club’s excellent performance at the 10th Spar Grand Prix, it ranks in the top 3 overall position with more than one athlete placing in the top 10, despite stiff competition.
The Spar Grand Prix is an annual series of 10km races for women. This year, athletes competed in races in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Pretoria and Johannesburg.
Christine Kalmer, who earlier this year represented South Africa at the Rio Olympic Marathon, is the top placed KPMG athlete. She lies in 3rd position overall. Keneilwe Sesing ranks in 9th position, while teammates Nolene Conrad and Andrea Steyn are tied in 11th place.
Ulrica Stander ranks in 1st place for Veteran Women and Judy Bird, who recently joined the KPMG Running Club, is the 1st Master.
In the junior competition, Nicole van der Merwe placed 2nd overall. Her junior KPMG teammates Yandiswa Shange, Chery-Lee Schoeman, Carina Viljoen and Robyn Kaltenbrunn also ranked in the top 10.
